Living in the New Age

Ladies and gentlemen please let me welcome you to a new age, an age where we should all see through a common vision. That vision is a better and prosperous Malawi to live in.

This is an age where Young people like me can actually feel that being a part of the political process can bring about significant economic and political stability if we were all to engage in meaningful activities that will in the end be for the greater good in society and for the country.

This is the time to be Time conscious. Let’s deal away with the ‘Malawian Time’ type of Mentality. Young  and old countrymen, it's time to drop the negative attitude we have towards our country. Malawi is our home, our Motherland. Let us help our nation be among the best in the world. Let us be a part of  a revolution to be good at what we do.Indeed time for business as usual is over.
We need to produce more and add to national development. It’s time for us especially young people to look forward with determination that we will do better than our Fathers and Mothers, Grandparents and all the generations before us. It's time to see through the lens of opportunity and grab whatever is presented to us within our reality.
We also need to make collective efforts in dealing away with our vices in the society. National building is fundamental for any regime therefore it is not surprising to see the newly democratically elected President, H.E Arthur Peter Muntharika  call upon efforts from ordinary citizens just like you and me to help along in the nation building process. We can help in national building, whatever it is that you can do, do your part and stop complaining about situations. We need to breed a nation of pro-active young and vibrant men and women, we can do this, we just need to make collective efforts.

In this new time ,  there is a need to shift our mentality. Now this is a matter of urgency, it’s time to let our minds be expanded, time to look beyond the horizon! It’s a new age we are living in. We can’t afford anymore to be negative or let negative circumstances change how we feel. Remember the Law of attraction, Cause and effect. We cause in our circumstances the things that we continuously think about.
The laws are there, it’s up to you to follow on them and see what type of extraordinary life you could live. Lets shift our paradigms to empower ourselves through mind development. Skills are important to keep, and one skill you should acquire for life is to constantly be in control of how you feel and how you think!

Well anyway to wrap up this piece, we have seen how laws are necessary in any democracy. Thanks to the law and the independence that the judicial system demonstrated in handling the election impasse cases just a few weeks ago. In my opinion, the process had been fair to all concerned parties, including ex-parte and the general public as well.

Well I just hope no one is conspiring to serve his/ her selfish vendettas after this year’s election. The election has opened most eyes around communities in the country and it for this reason that I hope we are likely to experience a shift in the political culture among us citizens. Well this will be subject to research, and probably we could use such data in consequent elections in 2019. But for now, welcome to a new era! Say goodbye to the Old Malawi. This systems overhaul that we have all been crying about for decades should start from the bottom level up, and it starts with just you and me.
